Memory that killed the camera: Priceless

This is the reason why I haven't posted in our blog, with pictures, since May.

The afternoon of May 25th 2009 Shanon had a great idea to go on a "couple mile" hike.

We would drop down from Sandflats, into Millcreek. We started the adventure at 2 p.m. and should be back about 5 p.m.

Well... the rain came in at about 4:00 p.m. flash flooding began approximately 5:30 p.m. We ran into horses that nearly kicked the puppies to death and swam through a pond (created by the flash flood)

that we couldn't even reach the bottom of, and which in turn took the cameras life with it. For most of the adventure we were soaking wet, freezing cold, and starving (the cookies we brought got mushed and soggy).

Colton's spirits were pretty good considering the circumstances - he kept saying things like "this is a test of god".

Bailey did pretty well she would start kicking while traveling through the water, or if the backpack was strapped a bit too tight.

Josh would once in a while say "I'm no longer afraid of hell - I've been there, this is it".

All of us stopped talking at some point. Alex even stopped crying!!

Towards the end of the adventure, I started running. I knew there were dry clothes in the trunk that I had failed to take to Wabi Sabi. Shanon couldn't run because his feet were numb and his knees were hurting.

When we got back in the car at 9 p.m. we changed into dry clothes, and turned the heater on. I tried to turn over the ignition but my fingers weren't working so Shanon had to. And then we were off to Maverick to get hot chocolate and donuts. Thank god we didn't have to spend the night in the canyon. When we got home we discovered that Josh's mom had already made arrangements to send a search crew out to rescue us.

The hike, turned out to be just over 8 miles. We looked it up on Google Earth.

We heard the next day that the locals were riding their rafts down 500 West.

With the exception of ruining our Christmas Present to each other, I don't think any one of us would trade the experience for the world. I'm glad the memory card is still able to be read with a universal card reader. Just purchased it today for $17.99. I had to get this post up asap so that everyone knows why there have been no postings as of late.

I also got a memory card for our very old, very worn out camera, which is the one I should have took on the trip in the first place. Now we will have another camera to use for all purposes.

P.S. Shanon cut his hair off last week. I was shocked when I got home. He told me it was in a pony, but when I reached for it, it was gone. I did get to play with his long hair a lot before he cut it. I'll miss it. But Shanon is so cute. I think he looks so handsome. I really like his smile and his laugh. And the way he is. What a great catch.

Bailey

I can't believe I havent posted this yet! Our daughter, Bailey Sage Amsberry. She is coming into our lives sometime in October.... Can't wait to meet her in the flesh. She is beautiful. Nobody has any idea how wonderful this being is.

In my womb she is very sweet. Learning to grow into her body. She moves ever so slightly, she seems to be observing all the vibrations that are coming through to her. As we go, I relax my body - especially if its a very strong emotion or thought. Relaxing into and around it seems to resonate better with Bailey.

Cutting the cake

As says the title these are shown in the order of which the cake cutting took place. I wouldn't have shoved the cake in his face - I was perfectly happy feeding him nicely and calling it good. Unfortunetly Shanon decided to surprise me with a mash in my mouth which I responded to with a reactive smashing into his eye - it was an accident, but nonetheless...wasn't intended.

"You shouldn't have worn pink" said an Oof

After a really fun ceremony and some hours of celebration, Shanon looks deep into my eyes and says " You shouldn't have worn pink....."
I was heart broken! This picture shows not the moment of the comment but definitely depicts the emotion I had after he told me that. Even though I was so sad and immediately took out the pink, and dropped my piggy tails, we can finally laugh about it - especially after discovering this picture~click on the picture to see what the bubble says.

After two magical years together we have joined as one and are now Mr. and Mrs. Amsberry!!
