Our little Bailey Cakes

Thinking...thinking....

All smiles for the camera

Um...
What is this stuff?
I don't know how I got both Meow and Bai to look at the same time.
Well, Hello! Fancy seeing you here.

I caught a bee!

Huh?

Days gone by

Our boys are getting big, and Bai will be 6 months on Sunday. I can't believe it. It is also our one year anniversary on Sunday. Amazing how the dates work out.

I love my little family. If only I could show them just how much they mean to me.

The only thing I really get upset about is when it seems that Shanon and I aren't spending enough time together. If that's my biggest complaint, I guess that's o.k.

Colton playing the flute

This is Colton playing the flute for Bailey and I. He is really enjoying taking band in seventh grade. Being musically inclined is one of his many talents.

Alex making Bailey laugh

(Don't mind the dry wall mud on our wall...it's been a long process and there are still so many little details that we have yet to get to, although this one is very important to me. The bedroom is supposed to be your own little sanctuary right?)

New Chicks - what a difference a few weeks make

Four new chicks (the fourth is on the bottom left side)

One of our silver laced wine dots, and a new little gray Leghorn. These two took together like mommy hen and baby chick.

Look at how Colton and the silver laced wine dot are looking at each other....haha. I think Colton was really tired. No sleep sleep-overs will do that.

And of course a couple pictures of Bailey for good measure.
She's contemplating life.

All in a weeks work...

Learning to sit up can be soooo tough.
But she is doing so well.

Her foot and favorite play thing.

Chicken coop project, days before the killing. I know it's not the best looking coop, but it will do until we can put more energy into a more beautiful one.

P.S. Notice Aspens interest.

My favorite picture, Daddy's little princess.
Roses from the daddy.....I Love them!

Five Chickens....gone

Aspen got in the coup yesterday afternoon. She killed five of the seven chicks that were exactly four weeks old yesterday. They just learned how to climb up to the Roost.

Colton and I had come back from the store with dinner when we saw Shanon come out with a look of severe distress. When I asked him what had happened he said that Alex woke him up saying Aspen was killing the chicks. I guess she was having a ball doing it too. He ran out there and pulled her out of the coup. Three were already gone, and the other two so hurt that he had to take their head off.

I am grateful that I didn't have to see that.

What did we get for dinner you ask? Fried Chicken....
