My soon to be Husband

Isn't he a darling? I took this closeup of him while he was laying tile. If you could only meet this incredible man. He got laid off from his job a couple of weeks ago, and since then we have had a chance to spend a lot of time together. Funny, come to find out I am more in love with him than I thought I ever could be. I am so glad to have him be the father figure for my son. If there is anyone that define what a "Man" is, it's Shanon - he is the man of men if I've ever seen one.

I am so incredibly grateful to have him in my life.

He is in Tucson, AZ right now - left this morning. I miss him already!! We went out to get wood twice this week so that he would know we would stay warm for the month that he is gone. I love him so much.

Our beautiful boys

I know beautiful is not the best way to describe boys, but they ARE beautiful to me. They bring me so much joy. Being a mom is the best "job" in the world - I'm sold. Alex is learning his Alphabet and letters, and is always very sweet. Colton is doing well in school although I'm convinced he can bring those "B"'s up to "A's" I know he knows it too. Colton has been really great with Alex lately - I think having Aspen around is helping him be more relaxed and less stressed about things.

Our furry friends

.

Our precious pets:

Meow Meow enjoying her nap a little too much - isn't she cute

Our little Trog taking his first bath - check out the tongue, yes he hated it.

and Aspen hanging out at her favorite spot, in front of the wood stove, she's a sweetheart.

Tile is set and grouted

We finally finished the middle section of the fireplace room. It looks beautiful, and it was a really fun project with my man.
Shanon left this morning for Tucson to work for a month.
Colt is on a campout with scouts tonight, and Alex is already in bed.
I re-arranged the bedroom today, man there was dust like you wouldnt believe! I am trying to get everything extra clean while he's gone - just to enjoy for a minute. I'm hoping that it doesnt take the entire month that he's gone to get done what I want to get done.

Looks like it's just me and the dogs tonight....

Three Days, an alcove, a hearth, and a slate tile floor

Sometimes, magic works in mysterious ways. We got all of this done in 3 days. With the help of our friend Ben, we have created something wonderful.

My daughter

She's been showing up next to me for years. Sitting in the car seat next to me, chit chatting away. Or washing dishes with me. Or there when I'm walking down the street. When I first met Shanon I told him that she would be on her way soon and he was okay with it. He said he could see himself having a daughter. If he had said no, I wouldn't have moved in with him.

Earlier this week I went outside and told her she couldn't come. Explained how hard it is in this world and honestly I didn't want to raise her in that environment. Constant construction, constant drinking, fluctuating energy fields. Nope, she wasn't coming. I mourned and cried myself to sleep.

The next day my sister called. She said she had a dream that night and she was pushing my daughter in a stroller and she was asking about me. Then, my neighbor came down and told me she had a dream about my daughter last night and wanted to know when she was going to get to be here.

I guess I'm having a daughter. She's just as relentless as I am.

One step at a time

Updates on the Tile Floor. The Fibonacci spirals out of the center piece, and opens to each side of the floors corners. There are 16 3/4" slate that points towards the center. I was working a lot with the number 16 when I finally found Shanon. I love working with this number, and the Fibonacci.

Colton's First puppy

Two days before we were to receive Tattoo, our Boston, Colton called from City Market. He wanted to bring home "the cutest puppy". I said no because we were getting our puppy in two days. I told him to ask Shanon, confident that Shanon would say no. He didn't say no. Colton was excited and as soon as he brought the puppy up, we were in love. The puppy was born Dec 3rd @ 7 p.m. Just 4 weeks old. She can't see very well, but she is eating real dog food. She's our little cutie.

We are reading a book by Cesar Millan about raising dogs to be their best.

New Puppies

Here are our new additions to the family. One male Boston Terrier, and one Female Pitbull Mix. We love them so much, poop and everything.
